Dustitude from Mexico!!!! Dust with an attitude
On Thursday in Torreon on the tail end of the Midwestern Cold blast of Arctic air we had a dust storm that blew through the town like something out of the Dust Bowl in the 1920's. It was incredible. Huge brown clouds of dust howled through all day long. I had to place towels under doors and around windows to keep the cold air & dust from blowing in full force. I actually taped the front door shut since very few homes here are built with weather strips at the bottom to the same standard as back in the states. Afterward there was a layer of dust on everything. Friday was a national holiday here in Mexico for the presidential inauguration, of President Calderon. I think most people would have needed the day off to recover from the onslaught of dust the day before but apparently some of the members of the Mexican Congress had more than enough strength to have fist fights just prior to the inauguration! I'm thinking the dust made people a bit too cranky & given them an attitude, certainly not passion or temper~not down here! Gosh, I am thinking our democratic process is such a wonderful thing! Ours may not be perfect but it is certianly the best & I haven't heard of fisticuffs recently. I was given a wonderful photo of the dust by a Tyson friend so have posted it so the picture of Torreon dust will be quite obvious. A picture is worth a thousand words or at least a gasp for fresh air as the case may be.

Wow, that is something! It must be scary to see that big brown puff of dist come rolling down the street towards you. Makes me wonder what the dust bunnies look like in Mexico!
The pool looked very much like a cup of coffee! Icky!
I was wondering about the pool, too, since I have been scooping endless leaves out of mine.
Must have been a mud pie! What DO you do about that? let the pump filter it out?
geez, there is more dust there than i found in my room!
This is the only time there has been more dust anywhere other than under your bed! ha!
